Fees

Fees for Mediation, Facilitation and Coaching.

My hourly rate for facilitation, mediation and relationship/parent/transitions coaching services is $295. This typically includes a combination of individual ($220, 45 minutes) and joint or group sessions (75 to 120 minutes). Following an intake and initial consultation, I will recommend a process (number and combination of sessions) and provide you with a cost estimate.

If you are in mediation to divorce or to modify an existing divorce decree and you reach a complete agreement, you may have me prepare and file your papers with the court.  I charge my hourly rate for drafting the judgment and a fixed fee of $900 for the rest of the papers and completion of the filing process.

Fees and Insurance Coverage for Psychotherapy

Fees. My hourly rate for psychotherapy is $200 for a 45 minute appointment (individual psychotherapy). I offer family and couple therapy appointments in 60 minute blocks ($240), 75 minute blocks ($320) or 90 minute blocks ($360) on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. For groups of 3 or more, my hourly rate is $295.

Insurance Coverage. I am not a provider on any insurance panels. However, if your insurance carrier provides out-of-network coverage, I may be able to provide you with a “super bill” (receipt) for insurance reimbursement. To qualify for reimbursement you must meet the criteria for a mental health disorder and be diagnosed. Insurance benefits are NOT available for missed appointments.

Insurance companies typically cover individual therapy, which can include sessions with another person present when that person's presence is necessary to address the issue at hand. Insurance companies typically do not cover "couples' therapy," but they will usually cover "family therapy."

I recommend that you contact your insurance company to understand the extent of coverage and the reimbursement process. Here are some questions to ask prior to your first appointment:

  1. I’m hoping to meet with a therapist who is outside of my insurance network, and I will be paying them directly. What are my out-of-network benefits? Specifically, how much of the therapist’s fee will I be reimbursed through my plan?

  2. Do I need a “preauthorization” before beginning treatment?

  3. Is there a limit to the number of sessions that will be covered?
